Market on Mill is a collaboration between Downtown Tempe Community, Inc (”DTC”) and the Phoenix Permaculture Guild that aims to bring more life to the community of Tempe.

The DTC is totally committed to revitalizing the downtown Tempe experience and already brings us the amazing Music on Mill event.

The Phoenix Permaculture Guild (”PPG”) is dedicated to promoting a sustainable, locally-focused, vibrant lifestyle that’s healthy for humans and the ecosystem. Pioneers in green / sustainability / urban agronomy education, the PPG offers great low-cost classes on edible gardening, urban chicken raising, seed saving, composting, and numerous other great subjects, as well as offering a certificate course in Permaculture Design. Check out their Web site to join the conversation!

Unlike a traditional farmers’ market that is food-and-produce-only, and unlike an art festival that brings out artists (and many traveling ones) only, the Market on Mill features local growers alongside exclusively local artists and musicians to foster a real spirit of interconnectedness between our community and the creators that help give it flavor. It’s a really unique arrangement that’s wildly cool!

The Market on Mill is committed to sustainability and is a carbon-neutral event. Only energy-efficient CFL and LED lighting is used, and recycled materials are the preference whenever possible. We promote local producers, saving thousands of food miles compared with produce that’s trucked or flown in from elsewhere. And our local artists and craftspeople will turn you on to great items that are made right here in the neighborhood, instead of in foreign sweatshops. Support your local sustainable economy at the Market on Mill!
